Editorial Policy
How FamousPokerPlayers.com researches player profiles, checks facts, ranks players and handles corrections.
Sources
Live tournament earnings come from the Hendon Mob database. WSOP bracelet counts come from official WSOP records. Hall of Fame inductions come from the Poker Hall of Fame. Biographical facts come from interviews, official biographies and established poker media.
Rankings
Each list states its rule at the top of the page. Most lists are ranked by verified live tournament earnings; others by bracelets, net worth or age. Lists that need judgement, such as the best players of all time, explain their formula.
Sensitive topics
Lists about cheating, criminal cases or financial trouble include only documented facts: official bans, suspensions, convictions or a player's own public statements. Allegations alone are never enough to place a player on such a list.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake, write to us at the address on our contact page. We review every message and update profiles after each major tournament series.
