Wesley Fei

Wesley Fei biography

Wesley Fei, legally known as Wenzhi Fei, is a Chinese-born, US-based poker player and cryptocurrency entrepreneur who reportedly studied computer science in California and now resides in San Francisco. Operating under the alias "Dr.

Hash" in crypto circles, Fei built ventures including Infinite Decentralization Capital and Block Infinity Fund, and he claims a net worth of $40 to $44 million derived from Bitcoin mining and cryptocurrency trading — figures that remain self-reported and have not been independently verified through public financial disclosures. Fei entered the poker world in January 2022 with no prior competitive background, immediately buying into extreme-stakes cash games rather than working up through smaller stakes.

He quickly became one of Hustler Casino Live's most recognizable personalities under the nickname "Wes Side," known for loose-aggressive, high-variance play that has produced both spectacular wins and dramatic losses on stream. His most famous hand came on May 31, 2023, when he lost the largest pot in televised poker history — $3,081,000 — to Tom Dwan during Hustler Casino Live's Million Dollar Game after triple-barrel-bluffing with ace-king.

In tournament play, Fei has accumulated $443,515 in tracked earnings across more than 25 cashes, primarily from WSOP events, including a sixth-place finish worth $197,550 in the 2025 Mystery Millions. His on-stream cash game record shows approximately $608,660 in net losses across roughly 791 tracked hours, though his full private results remain unknown. Fei has zero WSOP bracelets to date and remains best known for his willingness to gamble at the highest televised stakes.

Wesley Fei playing style

Fei is known for extremely loose-aggressive, high-variance cash game play featuring frequent large bluffs and oversized bets, a style that has produced both record-setting wins and record-setting losses on camera.
